On behalf of the staff and students I’d like to welcome you to Foothills’ Elementary Schools web page. If you have not already had the opportunity to do so I strongly encourage you to stop by the school and take a tour.

Foothills’ has been named a School of Distinction for the second year in a row. This honor is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of the entire school to helping our students achieve at high levels.

Four questions guide our work at Foothills:

1. What do we want our students to know and be able to do?
2. How will we know if they have gotten it?
3. What will we do for those students that aren’t getting?
4. What will we do for those students that already have it?

These guiding questions allow us to provide additional time and support to all of our students. This model has placed Foothills consistently in the top 10% of elementary schools in Pierce County in terms of its performance on state assessments.

Beyond its academic strengths Foothills also offers a variety of opportunities for our students to help them become more well-rounded citizens. Chorus, band, safety patrol, student council and fitness Friday are just a few of the extracurricular activities in which students can participate.

As mentioned earlier you are encouraged to stop by and take a tour of the school or sit down with me and talk about any questions you may have. Foothills is a great place for kids and their families!
