Our Fundamental Purpose is to maximize the learning for each student
Foothills will be a high performing school where all students are valued, engaged in their learning and meet or exceed academic standards.
Foothills' is a vibrant learning community built around the mission that all students will meet or exceed state standards. As a professional learning community we center our work on four critical questions:
- What do we want our students to know and be able to do?
- How will we know if they have gotten it?
- What will we do for those students that aren’t getting it?
- What will we do for those students that already have it?
Using these four questions to guide our work has enabled Foothills to consistently score above state averages in all academic areas assessed on the Meaurement of Student Progress. Perhaps even more importantly though is the fact that Foothills students believe in themselves and recognize that through hard work and perseverance they can accomplish whatever they set their minds to.
Focusing on core academics is of course extremely important; however, a school is much more than just academics. Foothills' offers a variety of after school programs such as choir, band, track, safety patrol, and student council. Our PTA actively supports our students through funding our field trips, maintatining a student store, popcorn Fridays and family skate nights.
Families are encouraged to stop by and take a tour of the school or sit down with the principal and talk about any questions you may have. Foothills' is a great place for kids and their families.
